ARTIST STATEMENT
I am an artist, photographer and occasional boat builder working between social documentary and conceptual approaches, using visual storytelling to explore human behaviour, shared habits, and the spaces we inhabit.
My practice is rooted in anthropological curiosity and sustained observation. Much of my photographic work focuses on cultural events, rituals, and everyday interactions, with an interest in how people gather, move, celebrate, and relate to one another across different social and geographic contexts.
Alongside photography, I work with objects, book-making, and simple technologies when these forms allow ideas to be explored materially. These works often use irony, constraint, or interaction to reflect on modern habits, consumerism, and our collective relationship with technology and design.
I am interested in both the serious and the satirical — in moments of quiet contemplation as well as in the subtle absurdities of everyday life. My work draws on documentary realism while also questioning how images, objects, and systems shape the way we see and understand the world.
Ethics and visual culture are central concerns in my practice. I aim to work attentively rather than intrusively, allowing meaning to emerge through observation, repetition, and context.
